My Mom, Dr Marge Alcala Isidro
6 years ago today, my Mom, Dr Marge Alcala Isidro, was welcomed into the presence of her Savior, the Lord Jesus Christ, and received the greatest blessing of all -- seeing face to face The One Whom she served all her life while here on earth!! she is still greatly missed, especially by her grandchildren (my kids), but her presence is still felt in the lives of those whom she touched and who were influenced by her.
Just last night, i was chatting with one of the young ladies from Cebu about VBS and she wrote, "you've been raised very well by Doctor Marge for you kept almost all of her activities when she was still here." I responded: "it will be good to know that, in the end, all our work for the Lord made a difference in someone's life. my mom would be very pleased to know that many of the young people she watched grow up at EL are still serving and living for the Lord!"
and isn't that what's most important? after all, as my Mom always reminded us, "Only one life, 'twill soon be past. Only what's done for Christ will last." so, with that reminder always in the back of our minds, my husband, my children and hopefully my grandchildren are continuing my Mom's legacy through the MARGE ALCALA ISIDRO EDUCATIONAL INITIATIVE (MAIEI) under TELOS EUARESTOS MINISTRIES, INC or TEMI. To date, with gifts from caring friends of TEMI, TEMI has been able to provide scholarships to 3 students from Brookes' Point Christian High School. There are 3 more applicants awaiting approval for scholarship and we're praying that God will provide for this need before the end of the school year in Palawan which is the end of March. For those whom God is leading to help with this important ministry to needy students in Palawan, and blessing someone halfway around the globe, please check out TEMI's FB page.
Thanks, Mom, for your legacy of faithfulness to the Lord and for your example of excellence in doing the Lord's work! We miss you SO much but we know we will see you again someday!! Until that day, we continue to move forward and upward...!!
