Keilah, the eldest, reminds me of myself, it's uncanny!! She is very responsible and serious about following the rules. When she gets home from school, she IMMEDIATELY starts working on her homework. She wants to be done with everything before her Mom gets home from work. She won't stop until she's finished her goal. She's meticulous about following the rules and instructions given to them. If her mother says NO candy for any reason, she will refuse said candy.
That's what happened this morning. I've been trying to get the girls to make sure their lips aren't dry and cracked (which is prevalent during the dry winter months ), so I've kinda bribed them that if they will use my Medex on their lips, i will give them a Lifesaver gummy. This has helped to get Calista who has the driest lips to use Medex even though she tells me that "it's too spicy..." (her excuse for NOT eating/using something). After Calista and Keilah both used the Medex, i took 2 Lifesaver gummies from my stash. i gave one to calista who took it right away. when i tried to give one to keilah, she told me, "Mama says no candy" and refused it.
Now, i need to explain that calista's the one who really needs to abstain from eating sweets because her parents spent too much money last year getting her teeth fixed when several of them abscessed from eating too much cinnamon toast crunch cereal!!
After keilah said no, i noticed that calista didn't volunteer to give back the gummy she had in her hand. calista reminds me of my sister Bev who was also the 3rd child (there would have been 4 of us but my mom miscarried the baby between rey and bev) who would defy the rules and just do whatever she wanted. and most of the time, she was able to get away with it cuz she was the youngest...
