Yesterday, 11/21/17, we took another one of our same day trips to Puerto Princesa. I noticed that at around 7 in the morning, there were so many kids in their school uniforms, carrying their backpacks walking to school. i wondered how far they had to walk and realized, when we passed the schools, that it is quite far!
some kids, though, are fortunate enough to be able to afford a ride to school and over here, the tricycle will take as many kids are they think they can handle! in this photos, it looks like there are probably more than 8 elementary kids on this one!! the ones sitting ON TOP of the tricycle are what scares me the most!! i'm sure these kids are paying at least P20 just to ride on this tricycle... i am glad, however, that these kids ARE able and willing to go to school!
on our way back to brooke's point, at around 4pm, we saw a few more tricycles carrying school kids home from school. this one doesn't have as many passengers, but they still try to fit as many as them can, with 3 of the boys sitting on top of the tricycle!! amazing or crazy????? you decide...
