SINGAPORE

December 2018
Dan and i were treated to a wonderful surprise by his brother Norman and sister-in-law Malou:  a trip to Singapore as an early anniversary and Christmas gift!!

Singapore is a really nice city -- so clean, so orderly, so green... If you're a foodie, there are so many choices, it would make your head spin...

We stayed at the Grand Copthorne Waterfront. What a lovely hotel!!

From Thursday to Saturday, we explored the usual tourist spots -- MerLion Park, Sentosa, Orchard Road, Clarke Quay -- and enjoyed doing our pasalubong and Christmas shopping at Bugis and Chinatown...

It was a wonderful experience!! A million thanks again, Norm and Malou!!!

from Wikipedia
The Merlion (MalaySinga-LautChinese: 鱼尾狮, Tamil: மெர்லயன்) is the official mascot of Singapore, depicted as a mythical creature with a lion's head and the body of a fish. Being of prominent symbolic nature to Singapore and Singaporeans in general, it is widely used to represent both the city state and its people in sports teams, advertising, branding, tourism and as a national personification.[1]
The Merlion was first used in Singapore as the logo for the tourism board.
